build austin’s local film culture

austin has a thriving film scene with several annual film festivals, some of the best local theaters in the country, numerous successful local filmmakers/technicians/actors, and a variety of hollywood projects being shot in our area every year.

i believe this new gigabit network could help move our film scene into the 21st century by making it easier for our creative residents to collaborate & distribute high quality visual media online.

furthermore, i believe online media distribution of this nature carries environmental benefits by freeing us from the production & distribution of hard copy media such as tapes & discs.
